State Champions!!

Sabine Pass is the 2013 1A One Act Play State Champions taking not only the gold medals and plaque, but best actress and samuel french award(Shanik Ifield), allstar cast(me), and honorable mention allstar cast(Jadon Booth).

Wait but it doesn’t end there we also got state champions in so many academic events individually that we are two time defending overall academics State Champions as well!!! Sabine Pass swept and scored almost double the points of the second place school, and got a better score in Sabine Pass history!

“In prose interpretation 1st place Janely Alvarez.” said the announcer at the district UIL meet Wednesday. I am Regional bound in Prose, and I am very proud of myself already no matter the outcome of the Regional meet. Durio is by far the one to give credit to for helping me grow with my pieces. Thank you God for emotionally getting me through such a long nerve wrecking day, and on to the next.

P.S. The part that made it all so much better was the amazing words held in the () on my ballet stating “The next female Johnny Depp?” That is the most flattering, unforgetable thing that has ever been—and probably will ever be—said to me. Thank You.

District One Act Play Competition Day.

Today was a very long emotional day. I was nerve wrecked all day and had a bad feeling today, but I prayed for it to be nothing. It was nothing. We advanced to the Area competition which will be held at HSPVA. Amazingly, everyone earned a reward. All techs got Honorable Mention All Star Cast, everyone else got an All Star Cast Reward, and Shanik Ifield was awarded Best Actress. Overall, we were blessed to perform a fantastic show tonight as well as advance. Thank God for a great memorable day.
